Dear (expectant) parents,

Congratulations on your pregnancy! The arrival of a child is a special and intense period, and we as a maternity organization are ready to guide you through these first days as best as possible.

What is maternity care?

Maternity care is the care and support you receive in the first days after the birth of your baby. As maternity nurses, we are expertly trained to give mother and child the best start. Our tasks include medical check-ups, nutritional guidance and practical care, so that you can care for your child with confidence.

What can you expect from us?

We offer maternity care for 8 days, with a possible extension of up to 10 days in case of complications. The days you stay in the hospital are deducted from this period. Day 1 of maternity care starts on the day your baby is born.
The amount of maternity care you receive is determined according to the National Indication Protocol for Maternity Care (LIP). This is based on your situation and needs. The possible packages are:

  • Breastfeeding and bottle feeding (such as latching on, feeding positions and preparing bottles)
  • Baby care (how to change, dress and bathe your baby safely and hygienically)
  • Drying your baby properly (to prevent stains)
